Alright, so you're ready to jump into chat GPT. Right. We'll strap in 'cause we're going deep on this YouTube video called Ultimate Chat. GPT-4 0.0 Guide 2024 mm-Hmm. How to use Chat GPT for Beginners. Yeah. This one's packed with so many tips. It's like your crash course on going from, well, like a total chat GPT fee, like.

Maybe not an expert. Right. Not an expert, but definitely. Someone who can make this thing sing. Yes. It's impressive how much they fit into this one video actually. Yeah. Like it's a really great beginner resource. They just took all the best tutorials and kind of like boiled them down to the essentials.

Yeah. They don't waste any time. They jump right into it. Yeah. Account set up. They walk you through it step by step. Yeah. Even break down. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Free versus paid, which is super helpful. Free, you get GPT 4, but with some limitations. Right. 20 bucks a month, you get the full shebang. Yeah. Faster speeds, unlimited responses, and all the new features as they come out.

Mm hmm. What do you think? Is that monthly sub worth it? You know, it really depends on how you're going to use it. Okay. If you're just messing around, like, seeing what it can do. Yeah. Free might be all you need. Okay. But if you're going to be using it, pretty regularly, like for work or writing or like creative projects even, then 20 bucks is, that could be a steal, because imagine you're like right in the flow and then you hit a response limit.

Oh yeah. That would be so frustrating. Totally. And plus, with the paid, you're always guaranteed to be using the most up to date version. That makes a lot of sense, yeah. Mm hmm. Okay, I have a confession. When I first heard about ChatGPT, I was like, ahhh, a little skeptical. Like, a fancy chatbot. Can't I just type in anything and get a good answer?

But this video Really, they emphasize the importance of something called prompting. Oh, yeah. That's kind of That's where the magic happens. Yeah, like, that was kind of Yeah, prompting is Eye opening for me. I was like It's how you communicate with it. Yeah. How you give it instructions. How you give it the context to deliver amazing results.

Okay. Think of it like this. It's like a powerful engine. Right. But you need a skilled driver to steer it in the right direction, and that's what prompting does. So it's not just about what you ask. Exactly. It's about how. It's how you ask it, and the video provides this simple framework. Okay. For creating effective prompts.

Formatting plus style plus restrictions. Okay, let's unpack that a little bit. Okay. Formatting, I get it. Like, you want a bulleted list. Yep. You want a paragraph. Yeah. And style. Mm hmm. Like, casual or formal or Tone. Yeah, tone. But restrictions, what are those about? Restrictions are about setting boundaries, keeping ChatGPT focused and on point.

Got it. The example they give is, like, you're looking for a pasta recipe, right? Okay. So instead of just asking for any old pasta recipe you could specify, give me a pasta recipe for a total beginner. Formatted as a step by step guide. with calorie counts, but keep it simple, no fancy ingredients, and then you're going to guarantee that ChatGPT gives you exactly what you're craving.

That's so smart, yeah. Right. Like laser focus? Yeah. Okay, so besides crafting these like super specific prompts, Uh huh. Is there anything else we can do to, like, improve the results? Absolutely. Context. The more information you give it, the better it can understand your needs and tailor its response. Can you give me an example?

I'm a big believer in So let's say Seeing it in action. Let's say you're a college student and you're writing a paper on the French Revolution. So instead of just asking chat GPT, give me bullet points on the French Revolution, you could be like, I'm a college student, writing a paper on the French Revolution, and I'm Can you give me five to 10 key bullet points that would be relevant for my research?

Oh, okay. That little bit of extra context. Right. Telling it that you're a student working on a paper can make a huge difference in the quality of the information. That makes sense. Yeah. It's like if someone just like throws a fact at me, it might just, you know, go in one ear and out the other. But if they tell me a story or relate it to something I know, it like clicks.

Exactly. And speaking of making things click. Okay. Yeah. Okay. The video introduces this really cool concept called role playing with ChatGPT. Role playing? Like, I'm in a, like, medieval costume battling dragons. Not quite. It's more about instructing ChatGPT to act like someone with specific knowledge or a particular style.

So, for example, if you want a technical explanation of a concept, you could tell it, Imagine you're a chemistry professor explaining this to your students. Right. Or, if you need, like, a simplified explanation, you could be like, Imagine you're my ten year old brother explaining this to me. Wow, that's, that's brilliant.

Right. I never thought to use it like that. Yeah. Okay, so, so then they also talk about So, using examples to guide ChatGPT. Yes. Like what kind of examples? Let's say you need like a bunch of different email templates, right? Okay. So you could give ChatGPT an example of like the kind of email you want. Okay.

And be like, generate a few more in this style. Right. Or if there's a particular writing style that you like. Uh huh. You could. Like you could give ChatGPT a sample of that writing and be like, analyze this and then use that analysis to create new content. Oh, that's so fascinating. Like build me more of these.

Right. Exactly. Wow. So, but what happens when you have like a really complex task, like something with multiple steps? Yeah. Will ChatGPT just Well, they address this with a technique called chunking. Chunking? Yeah, so you break down the task into smaller, more digestible pieces. Okay. Like, for example, you need help solving a complicated math problem, right?

Instead of just throwing the whole equation at it Right. You could start by being like, define the variables, then ask it to apply a specific formula. Okay, okay. And so on. So it's like taking it step by step. Yeah. Yeah. It helps ChatGPT process the information better. Got it. Break it down, okay? But what about, like, what if you need to give it, like, really specific instructions within a single prompt?

Okay, well that's where nested prompts come into play. Nested prompts. It's a more advanced technique, but incredibly powerful. Ooh. Advanced techniques hit me. Imagine you want ChatGPT to write a short story, right? Okay. So a simple one sentence prompt, like, Write a story about a talking cat. Yeah. That'll give you a story, but you won't have much control over the content.

Right. But with nested prompts, Okay. You can, you can outline the character, the plot points, the setting, all within that single sentence. single prompt. Oh wow. Giving you much more control over the final output. That's amazing. It's cool, right? Yeah. You know, like going from sketching with crayons. Yeah. To painting a masterpiece.

Exactly. With like the full set of. Full set of brushes. Yeah, brushes and colors and. Yeah. Okay, hold on. Uh huh. Did you know that you can set custom instructions Yes. In ChatGPT? Yeah. That applied to all new chats. It's like, it's like a personality makeover. What? Yeah. Really? Yeah. Okay, tell me more about that.

So you can tell it, you can tell it to avoid those like, you know, standard AI disclaimers. As a large language model. Right. As a large language model. Yeah. You could tell it to always break down tasks into smaller chunks. Okay. You could tell it to use a particular writing style. Right. You can really make it your own.

This is incredible, I can already see myself. Right. Spending hours tweaking these settings to create my own personalized like AI assistant. So the video walks you through how to do it. Okay, yeah. It's, you basically click on your profile. Okay. And then you find the customized chat GPT option. Uh huh. And there's two windows.

Okay. Okay. Top one is for information you want ChatGPT to remember about you. Right. Your preferences and needs. Okay. You could even paste in, like, a writing style analysis. Ah. Like we talked about earlier. Okay. So it's always mimicking your writing style. Interesting. Cheat sheet about me and how I like things done.

Exactly. Okay. And then the second one. Second one is like, it's marching orders. Like how do you want it to behave? How should it approach tasks? What formatting do you prefer? Anything you want to be consistent across all your interactions. Game changing. Yeah. Okay. I'm already like thinking of all the ways this could streamline my work and, you know, boost my creativity.

Mm hmm. But hold on. Okay. All this amazing stuff we've been talking about. Yeah. It's all based on, like, ChatGPT's internal knowledge. Right. What about staying up to date? Well, you bring up a great point. Yeah. And they have a solution for that, too. Web browsing. Okay. It's a feature you can enable. Right. That lets ChatGPT access and process current information.

Wait, so I can ask it about today's news? Yeah. Or, like, get Stark information. Yeah. Or even have it analyze my website for SEO keywords. All of it. This is incredible. It's like having a research assistant. Yeah. Who can instantly scour the web. And synthesize information for you. Wow. Okay. Back to the, back to the cool stuff.

All right. They mentioned something called custom GPTs. Yes. What are those? Custom GPTs are like specialized versions of chat GPT trained for very specific tasks or areas of expertise. Okay. Think of it as having like a team of AI experts at your beck and call. Okay, so where do you find those? So you can actually find pre made GPTs in like a GPT store.

Interesting, like an app store for AI? Okay, so like you need a GPT that's like a whiz at financial analysis. Right. You can just download one. That's so cool. But here's where it gets even more interesting. Okay. You can create your own custom GPT. We can create our own AI specialists? Yeah. That's next level.

It is. So there's two ways to do it. The first is through like a simple question and answer process. Okay. Where chat GPT like guides you through defining the purpose and capabilities of your GPT. Right. You tell it what you want it to do. Okay. And it helps you build it. So it's like your AI coach. Exactly.

Helping you create your own AI team member. And then the second method gives you more granular control. So you can provide direct instructions, upload your own data sets for it to learn from, and even enable features like web browsing or image generation. So if I had like a massive collection of like historical documents, I could upload those?

Mm hmm. And create a GPT that's an expert historian. Exactly. Wow. Or if you have a library of like, your company's internal documents, you could create a GPT that's like a walking encyclopedia of company knowledge. That is, that's mind blowing. It's really The possibilities are just, like, endless. Endless.

Endless. Yeah. So, once we've created these custom GPTs, how do we, like, how do we use them? Do we have to, like, switch between interfaces? You don't. Okay. What's really cool is the video demonstrates how you can actually, like, call out specific custom GPTs while you're chatting with ChatGPT. Got it. So, it's like summoning different entities.

Experts. Yeah. To assist you with different aspects of a task. Okay. I need an example. Okay. So, let's say you're working on a research project, right? Okay. So, you could call out your, like, research expert GPT to gather relevant information and sources. Okay. And then you could call out your, like, writing assistant GPT to help you structure and draft a report based on that research.

And then, like, if you need visuals. And if you needed visuals. You can do summon a GPT. You should summon one that's specialized in creating like charts or diagrams. This is like conducting an orchestra of AI. It is. I love it. Yeah. Wait a minute. We've been talking so much about text. What about visuals?

Well, get ready to enter a whole new dimension of AI because ChatGPT can now see. Wait, what? Hold on. Thanks to its integrated vision capability. ChatGPT can see? ChatGPT can see. Oh. So you can upload images for analysis. Text extraction and even code generation. Hold on. Code generation from images. From images.

What? Yeah, so they show how you can upload like a messy screenshot. Okay. And it can extract all the text from it. Word for word, even if the fonts and sizes are all different. Crazy. And it can even take a handwritten diagram Yeah. and turn it into code. Wait, is this the beginning of Skynet? Uh huh. Should I be worried?

Don't worry. Yeah. AI vision is still in its early stages. Okay. It's very good at Right. recognizing objects and extracting text. Okay. But it struggles with more complex tasks like Understanding audio and video. Okay, so no robot uprising just yet? Not yet. Okay, good, good, good. But, they do have a mobile app, which takes vision to a whole new level.

Okay, so like, what's special about that? It basically turns your phone's camera into an AI powered tool for understanding the world around you. Yeah, imagine pointing your phone at a landmark. Okay. And it instantly identifies it and tells you all about it. Whoa. Or taking a picture of a dish at a restaurant.

Yeah. And it finds you the recipe. No way, that's amazing. It can even understand memes? So I can finally get an explanation for all those cryptic memes that my friends send me. Yeah. This is life changing. And the best part? Yeah. The mobile app also has a voice chat feature. Whoa, next level. Yeah, you can literally talk to chat GPT.

Wow. Like it's a person. This is, this deep dive is already blowing my mind. I know, right? And we haven't even gotten to DALI yet. I know, I know. I know. Image generation. We've covered a lot of ground. Yeah, we have. Maybe we should, uh, pause here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Pick up the rest of this part to this AI journey.

Let's do it because I don't want to overload people with too much awesome. Too much awesome all at once. But trust me, you're not going to want to miss the next part where we dive into DALI. Yes. Data analysis and even more. Even more advanced. ChatGPP tips and tricks. It's going to be good. Yeah. ChatGPT.

Woo. Last time we went from like crafting the perfect prompt to unlocking the power of custom GPTs and the incredible world of AI vision. It was a lot. It was good. But now get ready to unleash your inner artist with DALI. Yes. I'm so ready for this. Image generation has always like fascinated me, but I've got to admit, I've been kind of intimidated by some of those other AI art tools out there, like mid journey with all its parameters and settings.

Just a lot to wrap your head around. I hear you, but what's so cool about Delhi, as this video highlights, is that it's incredibly user friendly. Okay. It uses the same text recognition capabilities as ChatGPT. Right. So you can simply describe what you want to see and it makes it happen. Oh, okay. No need to get bogged down in like, you know, all that technical jargon.

Okay, that sounds more my speed. Yeah. So if I wanted a picture, Of like, let's say, a cat riding a unicorn through a rainbow filled sky. Mm hmm. I just type that in. Pretty much. Oh, okay. And the more descriptive you are, the better. Yeah. Like, what kind of cat? Yeah. What's the unicorn wearing? Is it a double rainbow?

You know? What kind of artistic style are you going for? The more details you give, Dali, Yeah. The more accurately it can bring your vision to life. Okay. Okay. I'm already getting ideas. Good. But what if I create an image? Mm hmm. And then I want to change something? Mm Can Dolly do that too? Oh, absolutely.

Okay. The video shows a couple of neat ways to edit your Dolly creations. Okay. One is to use text prompts. Yeah. To replace specific elements. Okay. So for example, you could say like, replace the cat with the dog. Right. But this method can sometimes create an image that's not quite what you expected. Okay.

Because Dolly essentially regenerates the whole image based on your new prompt. Oh, so you might lose some of the details from the original image. Right. Okay, what's the other method? The other method is a bit more precise. Okay. You can use a brush tool to select the exact area that you want to change.

Right. And then provide a new text prompt just for that area. Okay. So let's say you wanted to swap that cat for like a, Basketball you would select the cat with the brush and then tell dolly replace this with a basketball Got it. And that way dolly focuses on the selected area and leaves the rest of your you know Masterpiece untouched that's amazing.

It's like having an AI powered Photoshop right at your fingertips. I know right, but what about image resolution? Yeah, I've heard that dolly produces images that are kind of like low res. That's true But the video explains how to You can easily upscale your DALI images to a higher resolution. Oh, okay.

You just tell DALI to upscale it and it'll give you a link to download the higher res version. So you can really create high quality images without needing any fancy design software. Exactly. This is blowing my mind. I know, it's pretty cool. But what about, like, copying art styles? Like, if I see a cool image online, can I tell DALI to create something similar?

You can definitely give it a shot. Okay. The video shows how uploading an image and asking Delhi to replicate it can sometimes produce like surprisingly good results. Delhi essentially analyzes the image and tries to generate its own version based on what it learns. Okay, so it's not like a perfect copy paste, but it can capture the essence of a particular style.

Exactly. It's more about like inspiration and guidance than exact replication. Speaking of capturing essence, this video takes us on a fascinating journey into data analysis with ChatGPT. Data analysis. That doesn't sound quite as exciting as creating, like, unicorn filled landscapes. Uh huh. Is that where things get really technical and complicated?

Not at all. What's remarkable is how ChatGPT makes data analysis accessible to anyone, even if you're not, like, a statistician or a programmer. Okay, now you got my attention. Good. How does it work? So, ChatGPT has this built in code interpreter that's really good at handling and processing data. You can upload datasets in various formats, like CSV files, spreadsheets, even archives, and ChatGPT will analyze them, clean them up, and even, like, offer suggestions for what to do with them.

So it's like having a data analyst and a cleaning crew all rolled into one. Exactly. I'm liking this already. So the video has this great example where someone uploads two datasets, one on oil consumption and another on oil reserves. And they ask ChatGPT to cross reference the data and find correlations.

Wow. Okay. That sounds really powerful. Yeah. What did it do? It not only analyzed the data, but it also provided a clear explanation of the correlations that it found. Right. Highlighting trends and patterns that a human might miss. This is incredible. Right. So you could use ChatGPT to, like, Analyze your business data, see trends, and like make smarter decisions.

Absolutely. Wow. And it goes even further. Okay. ChatGPT can create interactive visualizations based on your data. Interactive visualizations, you mean like those cool charts and graphs you see in presentations and stuff. Exactly. You can ask ChatGPT for a specific type of chart, like a line graph or a scatter plot, Right.

And it will generate an interactive visualization that you can explore and manipulate. I never thought I'd be this excited about data analysis. I know, right? This is seriously impressive. It's pretty cool. But, wait, there's more, right? There is. The video mentioned something about predicting trends. Yes.

Okay. Based on the data it analyzes, ChatGPT can actually make predictions about future trends. Okay. So, in that oil consumption example. ChatGPT projected that oil consumption would continue to grow until at least 2031. Wow. And even provided a graph to visualize the prediction. This is like having a crystal ball powered by AI.

Uh huh. Yeah. If ChatGPT can predict the future based on data, shouldn't we all be using it to invest in the stock market? Well, it's important to remember that ChatGPT's predictions are based on historical data and algorithms. Right. So while it's a powerful tool for understanding data and potential trends, the future is always uncertain.

True. There are many factors that could influence these trends. So it's not, you know, it's not a foolproof system. Okay. So no get rich quick schemes. Right. Okay. Based solely on ChatGPT's predictions. But still, this data analysis stuff is seriously impressive. It is. I'm feeling like I've leveled up my AI game already.

Good. What other hidden gems did you uncover in this video? Well, besides the main features and techniques. The video also gives us some, like, cool tips and tricks. Okay. ChatGPT experience. Ooh, like tips. Pro tips. Yeah, like pro tips. Exactly. All right. Well, we've got to save something for part three. Okay. All right.

But I am, I am excited to hear about these. Good. All right. I'm ready for the final chapter of our chat GPT adventure. Welcome back to the final part of our chat GPT deep dive. We've gone from the basics of prompting to like the incredible potential of Custom GPTs, AI vision, and even data analysis, but as they say, save the best for last.

What other hidden gems did you find in this video? So, you know, sometimes, like, you get a great response from ChatGPT. But you wish you could, like, tweak it just a bit, like, make it a bit more random, or use, like, more interesting vocabulary? Right. So the video reveals these secret controls. Okay. I like to call them AI dials.

Okay. That let you fine tune the output to your liking. Ooh, AI dials. I like it. Yeah. Tell me more. So one of these dials is called temperature. Okay. And it basically controls Yeah. How predictable Okay. Or creative ChatGPT's responses are. Okay. So, lower values make it more, like, focused and deterministic, while higher values introduce more randomness and surprise.

Okay, so if I'm looking for a straight answer, Yeah. I keep the temperature low, Yep. But if I wanted to, like, get those creative juices flowing, Yep. I turn it up. You turn it up exactly. Got it. It's like adjusting the heat on your stove. Low and slow for precise cooking, high heat for searing and experimenting.

Great analogy. Right. Okay, what other dials can we play with? Another important one is diversity penalty. Okay. And this controls How much chat GPT tries to avoid repeating words or phrases. Okay. So a higher penalty encourages more variety in the language. Right. While a lower penalty might make the output sound a bit repetitive.

Got it. So if I want to make sure the chat GPT doesn't sound like a broken record, I crank up that diversity penalty. Precisely. And then, for those who like to spice things up with a bit more, like, linguistic flair. Okay. There's the frequency penalty. Okay. And this one influences how likely chat GPT is to use, like, uncommon or unusual words.

So if I wanted to sound like, you know, like a Shakespearean scholar, I set that high. You set it high. Exactly. It's like giving ChatGPT a thesaurus and encouraging it to, you know, show off its vocabulary. This is, this is amazing. I can already see myself, like, tweaking these dials to create different, like, effects and styles.

Totally. It's like being, like, a conductor. Right. Leading an orchestra of words. I love that. That's a great analogy. But before we get, uh, lost in the music. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The video mentioned one more, like, practical tip that I was like, okay, I got to try this. Ah, you must be talking about the keyboard shortcuts?

Yes. Yeah, these are like little time savers that can really speed up your workflow in ChatGPT. You know I'm all about efficiency. I know, I know. Spill the beans, what are they? So, the video shows us how to find a list of these shortcuts right within the chat GPT interface. You can use them to quickly, like, create new chats, delete responses you're not happy with, even access your custom instructions with just a few keystrokes.

Oh, that's gonna save me so much clicking. I know, right? This video is truly a treasure trove of like it is chat GPT wisdom chat GPT wisdom But as we reach the end of our deep dive, I have to ask What does it all mean? That's a great question, right? And the answer is ChatGPT is more than just a chatbot, it's a tool, a partner, a springboard for creativity and problem solving by mastering these techniques and understanding its power.

We're not just using AI, we're collaborating with it. I love that perspective. It's not about AI replacing humans. Yeah. It's about humans and AI. Humans and AI working together. Working together to achieve incredible things. Yes. Well said. So to our listeners out there, you know, we encourage you to keep exploring, keep experimenting.

Keep asking questions. Keep asking questions. The world of AI is vast, vast and full of possibilities. Endless possibilities. And who knows? Who knows? What amazing discovery. What amazing discovery. God bless us. Await us just around the corner. Just around the corner. Until next time. Until next time. Stay curious.

Stay informed. Stay informed. And keep those Keep those AI dials. AI dials. Turn to Turn to awesome. Awesome. And that wraps up our deep dive into the world of chat GPT. Hope you enjoyed it. We hope you're feeling empowered and excited to start your own AI journey. Absolutely. Remember, the best way to learn is by doing.

By doing. So go out there, experiment, have fun. Have fun. And see what amazing things you can create with the power of AI. Until next time.
